A chemical peel is not painful. There may be a mild tingling sensation and /or itchiness, depending on which peel treatment you are receiving. This sensation only lasts a few minutes and is supervised at all times. After a peel, the skin is sun-sensitive and we will apply a sunscreen immediately afterwards. We also recommend a sun block with an SPF 30 or more for your continued use after the treatment.

It is important to mention that the term “chemical” peel may be deceiving. Chemical peels can be used on the face or body. Common areas of the body to be treated include the chest, back, and hands for skin rejuvenation, acne, or sun-damage.

Chemical peel treatments are used for various skin types and concerns including:

• Pigmentation
• Sun damage
• Acne scarring
• Smooth fine lines
• Fine wrinkles
• Dull complexion
• Redness

Chemical peels force the skin to regenerate itself, revealing fresher younger skin. This treatment works to exfoliate the skin and contribute to enhancing the skin’s hydration. Smooth lines are visibly reduced and the skin’s texture and tone are greatly improved. Chemical Peels loosen old, dead cells from the skin’s surface revealing new, healthy cells. The result is smooth, radiant, glowing skin.

Chemical peels can effectively:

• Clear Acne/Blemished Skin
• Scarring
• Smooth fine lines and wrinkles
• Even out skin discoloration
• Revive dull complexions
• Reduce redness

Who can receive a chemical peel?
Chemical peels are recommended for most skin types. Mature skin, sun-damaged or dull skin will greatly benefit all skin types. Chemical peels can also be an integral part of acne care regimens.
